The Seoul Metropolitan Government recognizes the importance of financing sustainable development. Seoul joined the FC4S Network in 2018, and is now in the early stages of developing a strategy to promote green and sustainable finance in Korea – with a focus on fintech.

Paris

Finance for Tomorrow, a branch of Paris EUROPLACE, was launched in June 2017 to make green and sustainable finance a key driving force in the development of the Paris Financial Centre and to position it as a leading financial hub on these issues.

Astana

In 2020 AIFC plans to develop new environmental code and taxonomy for green projects, and a pilot launch of the first green bond.

New York

The U.S. Alliance for Sustainable Finance (USASF), based in New York City and formed in December 2018, works to encourage more climate-friendly and sustainable finance innovation across the U.S. capital markets. This initiative brings together private sector actors in line with the aim of meeting the United States’ targets of the Paris Agreement.

Nairobi

The NICFA is developing a strategy on green and sustainable finance, building on local innovations in the space such as delivery of financial services through mobile technology.

Milan

Borsa Italiana, Forum per la Finanza sostenibile (FFS-ItaSIF) and Federazione Banche Assicurazioni e
Finanza (FeBAF) have set up ESGeneration Italy in 2021.

Madrid

FINRESP involves over 500 financial institutions as founding members.

London

The London City Corporation works to enhance London’s capacity to finance sustainable investment opportunities domestically and globally.

Lisbon

The GRFS think tank on sustainable finance is coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transformation. Members also include ten financial institutions, the three financial system supervisors, and four financial sector business associations.

Liechtenstein

The Liechtenstein Bankers Association received the prestigious 2019 award for Outstanding Contribution to Good Governance Liechtenstein from Capital Finance International (CFI.co).
